changing DMT to LMT

Hi,

I thought we could change a DMT to an LMT, but at the following link (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96524/c04space.htm#1945) it says:

When you create a tablespace, you choose one of these methods of space management. You cannot alter the method at a later time

Please help!
