Change UID of selected (deleted) users (OIM 11g R2)

Hi experts,

I have a use case where I have to be able to "release" the UIDs of deleted users so that their UIDs can be "recycled" for new identities within OIM.

It would be nice to be able to do that

1) from within the GUI of OIM

2) for a bunch of users at a time (not one-by-one).

I was thinking of "simply" changing the respective UIDs of the deleted users accordingly, eventually by a button in the user search results (just like delete, lock or disable).

How would I achieve that?

Any ideas or suggestions?
