Change default look and feel of the Region Display Selector

Hi All,

 I am using APEX 5.1.1 with universal theme. The default look and feel of the DRS is not quite acceptable to the client. I was looking at the packaged application examples and would some like below

Changing the template to pill somehow does not give the below result

Still looks like this. How to resolve it (i.e. get boxes around all the tabs)
