Change default kernel (from grub)

Yoon Kian WongMar 19 2012 — edited Mar 20 2012
Hi,

Would like to have some advise ( I cant find any documents from metalink), so here's my best bet.

I have a running (test box) installed with Oracle Database and some 3rd party applications running on Oracle Linux (uek).

My question is, if I'd like to change the grub to boot Redhat compatible OS (el) kernels, will my applications/data/oracle still be available, mountpoints, kernel parameters etc ?

Kindly enlighten.
