We are currently using Change Data Capture (CDC) within our application to capture changes within a few tables in our database and utilizing a publish-subscribe type model. It sounds as if Oracle has replaced with with Golden Gate, however this product seems very expensive for the minimal functionality required in this database. Can anyone tell me if CDC is actually gone or just depricated in 12c? Also, are there any alternatives or lower cost options to replace the CDC functionality rather than going with Golden gate?
