Change Contents of a Region depending on another Same Page Region?

Hi guys,

I've got an application where I'd like to have two regions on a page with the contents of the 2nd region dependent on the selection (via a link maybe?) made in the 1st region. The actual application is displaying an applicant's undergraduate colleges of attendance in the first region, and then displaying the coursework taken at the "selected" institution in the 2nd region. Can this be done on a single page with the 2nd region repopulating without a complete page refresh?
