Change APP_USER but keep SESSION_ID

Hi,

My client would like to be able their users to switch logins without moving from the current screen. They have many shared workstations and would prefer to have a simple modal popup for a re-login process but for the app to not navigate away from the current page (and it's session state).

Is this possible or if the APP_USER bound to the SESSION?
