Certified Peoplesoft Upgrade path

Hi,

We are in peoplesoft HRMS ver 9.0 and PeopleTools ver 8.49.

We are planning to upgrade our system to Peoplesoft HRMS ver 9.2 and PeopleTools ver 8.55.

Is it a good practice to first make the system as(PeopleSoft HRMS ver 9.0 and PeopleTool ver 8.55) and Then upgrade the application to HRMS 9.2?
