CDE Not working

hi!

I have installed SOlaris 8 on Dell poweredge 300 (P3 800 with 394 Megs Ram)
The installation was very smooth in GUI mode but the system waits for long time on CDE login and i can see only the help screen and the file manager window and nothing else.

The windows do not have any control bars and i always open the command line window for shutdown also. The whole screen have only the help and the filemanager window only.

I have installed it atleast 10 times with different combinations but nothing is working. I have 3COM eternet card and ATI Rage Xpert98 8MB PCI card.

If anyone can guide me for possible solution.
