CCB and NMS Integration via API instead of Direct Database Access

Frank NingJan 21 2025 — edited Feb 12 2025

Hello,

Today we have CCB and NMS integration via Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) for updating the CU_* tables for customer, meters and meter connectivity data. The ESB directly accesses the NMS database to update the CU_* tables. We are moving NMS database to SCADA secure zone since we will enable the ICCP block 5 for NMS to directly operate SCADA devices if needed (FLISR, etc.). The CCB and ESB are located in corporate network. With cybersecurity and airgap requirements, we need to prevent anything from directly accessing NMS database.

What we are looking for is to have CCB/NMS integration adapter from Oracle which can be used by our ESB to send API requests to do CU_* update. Ideally, the adapter can be deployed on WebLogic similar to nms_ws.ear, which can be located in our SCADA DMZ zone. The adapter would also need to provide query APIs against those CU_* tables.

Please notice that both of CCB (2.8) and NMS (2.3.0.2, moving to 2.6) are on premise.

Thanks and regards

Frank
