CAST date field AS NUMBER with 'YYYYMMDD' format???

I need to CAST a field of type Date format into a number with a specific format of 'YYYYMMDD'.

I have been unable to get this work and work arounds to extract the Year, Month, Day and CONCAT into a value have been causing issues as well.

Any suggestions?
