Case sensitive search filter during OIM reconciliation

970192Oct 30 2012
Hi all.

We have installed and configured OIM 11.1.2 and have set up Active Directory Connector 11.1.1.5 (AD is target resource). Our Active Directory is on Windows Server 2008. We have successfully performed both lookup and target reconciliations, and provisioning. However, during group lookup reconciliation we noticed that the optional search filter for the reconciliation job is case sensitive. This causes an issue since the customer has a lot of AD groups and no strict rules with regards to naming them (groups can use both lower and upper cases for any character). To make sure that all the groups in a desired subset are imported, the customer would then need to make sure that all the groups are named correctly which is not a popular alternative. :) Has anyone encountered this issue before and maybe found a solution?

Attributes are not defined as case sensitive in Active Directory, so this issue must be related to how OIM performs the filter. If I'm not mistaking, the syntax of the search filter in OIM changed from 11g version (used to be plain ldap search filter). Any idea where this configuration can be viewed and possibly modified?

Thank you.

Best regards,
Mr. T
