Cant reset password for database connections configured on Oracle SQL Developer 4.1.2

Good day,

I installed Oracle 12c client on my Windows 10 x64 laptop.

I installed Oracle SQL Developer 4.1.2 and added a database connection. However the user's password has expired so I tried to reset the password after following the instructions in this article (click here) yet I still keep on getting the error below:

Can someone please assist?
