cant login to apex at all - invalid credentials

HI I just downloaded apex a couple of days ago and I am following the 2 day documentation. I have installed the 2dayplus demo and assigned users in the apex_admin application. No matter how many users I add or what passwords I give them when I go to the apex login screen and put in the 2DAYPLUS workspace none of the users will log in.

I have installed 11g db
apex 4.0.2 english
apex_listener.1.1.2.131.15.23
web logic 10.3.5.0

Baring in mind I am a complete newby to this and ideas would be mutch appreciated.
