Cannot start IAS console

As or recently I cannot start iasconsole anymore.

# emctl start iasconsole

... is giving me this output at the end ...

Starting Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Application Server Control ...........................
No response, checking logs for initialization activity.
waiting for response from console ........................
No response, checking logs for initialization activity.
Console startup failed to start.


Oracle 10g AS on Centos 4.6.


Any ideas?
