Cannot start Director from webpage

EricDBAEDQDec 7 2016 — edited Dec 8 2016

I used to be able to start Director from the webpage like it is normally opened. Then I got a java update and all of the sudden I am not able to start up Director normally. Then I started having to go to the folder where the 'jnlp.jnlp ' file is downloaded, and manually start Director using 'javaws.exe' in the command line to start it. Like this:

   1. First change to the directory in jdk ( cd C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_79\bin )

   2. Then open the file ( javaws.exe C:\Users\myname\Downloads\jnlp.jnlp )

Then it would eventually start up, with a few prompts. But now I tried to open Director, using this modified means and it's not working. EDQ IS my job and I need this up and running ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You might question why the old version of Java? Because after my Java got an update it stopped working the normal way.

DESPARETLY NEEDING HELP!!!!!!!!!!  I have to open the Server Console up the same way, which is also not working!
