Cannot restore archivelog sequence from backuppiece

312253Oct 24 2009 — edited Oct 24 2009
Hi, I have a backuppiece on disk which has an archvielog sequence that needs to be restored. Here is the backuppiece listing:

BS Key Size Device Type Elapsed Time Completion Time
87 1.55G DISK 00:04:22 21-OCT-09
BP Key: 87 Status: AVAILABLE Compressed: NO Tag: %TAG
Piece Name: /oracle-install-nfs/backup-standby/3ikscdov_1_1

List of Archived Logs in backup set 87
Thrd Seq Low SCN Low Time Next SCN Next Time
1 1068 92779133 21-OCT-09 92873694 21-OCT-09
1 1069 92873694 21-OCT-09 92968599 21-OCT-09
...
2 527 91281005 21-OCT-09 91564140 21-OCT-09
2 528 91564140 21-OCT-09 91843989 21-OCT-09
2 529 91843989 21-OCT-09 92122327 21-OCT-09
2 530 92122327 21-OCT-09 92405650 21-OCT-09
2 531 92405650 21-OCT-09 92684186 21-OCT-09
2 532 92684186 21-OCT-09 92969259 21-OCT-09
2 533 92969259 21-OCT-09 93258075 21-OCT-09

(above is the output of "list backupset" from rman)

But even though this backuppiece shows as available, this is what I get when I try to restore archive sequence 530:

RMAN> restore archivelog sequence 530;

Starting restore at 24-OCT-09
using channel ORA_DISK_1
RMAN-00571: ==========
RMAN-00569: ========== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS
RMAN-00571: ==========
RMAN-03002: failure of restore command at 10/24/2009 10:50:51
RMAN-20242: specification does not match any archive log in the recovery catalog

RMAN>

Do I need to register the backkuppiece or something? Thanks, Gil
