Cannot launch Microsoft Edge browser in SQLDeveloper 17.3.1

SQLDeveloper (17.3.1) Preferences "Web Browser and Proxy" - Selecting "Edge" as the default browser DOES NOT LAUNCH the browser.
The settings for Application : C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\MicrosoftEdge.exe

I confirmed the PATH does exist by opening the console and change directory. Attempt to launch the executable manually does not open the browser as well, so this is definitely an issue . ALSO, (trivial) there is no Microsoft Edge icon.

Repeating the same steps for: Internet Explorer works properly. In have a 64bit operating system, Windows 10 - version 1709
