Cannot install softwares

I am trying to move from MS windows to Solaris 10, but after installing Solaris I put in my motherboard CD and tried to install drivers, it didn't do anything literally in the Java desktop it just sits there.. in the other common desktop it prompts me that the file cannot be read or something. It was read fine on windows so I know the disk is good, only minor scratches but no big deal. I also tried other disks of mine, like warcraft but it couldn't read that either. Do I have a corupt version of solaris? I have to write this on another machine because Solaris cannot access the internet without the motherboard drivers. Please help, I don't think it can read any of my disks! Thanks! I also posted here http://supportforum.sun.com/sjds/index.php?t=msg&goto=8910&rid=17576&SQ=121133162287be900c7a7d69ec2a5665 but I think it was the wrong place, sorry for the double posting.
