cannot delete registered schema

96429Aug 12 2003 — edited Aug 20 2003
Hi,

Running version 9.2.0.3.0 on Windows 2000 server.

I am having a very hard time deleting a registered xml schema.

I am using enterprise manager and select xmldatabase, xmlschema, userSchema, highlight the schema and select remove. It then gives me 4 options, I select the last one (Delete the xml schema and all dependent objects even if there is instance data conforming to this schema).

My cursor turns to the egg timer and I wait for about 10 minutes. I then kill Enterprise Manager (oracle is running on Windows 2000), open it up again. Sometimes its still there and I have to repeat the process several times...Sometimes I get an error message saying it is not a valid schema...

I finally get the schema and xml table removed but then the schema is still under xml database, resources, home, usersdirectory and I have to delete it out of there.

Basically it takes me half an hour to get rid of the schema. Am I doing things in the wrong order ?

Regards,

Ned
