cannot boot after installing Solaris 8 intel

807559May 9 2000 — edited Oct 7 2000
I'm trying to install Solaris 8 intel for several days no w/o any success. I use disk 1-of-2 and the interactive installation method. It goes through OK, though I get a warning that the boot drive I selected is not the default boot drive. After rebooting the system doesn't boot (it stops after the BIOS checks).

My configuration is: pimary ide interface disabled, secondary ide interface holds the CD-ROM as master, an Adaptec AHA2940 holds the hard drive at 0:0.

If I boot with the configuration assitant, I can boot up the hard drive partition I installed Solaris on. But it just won't boot on it's own. :((
