Cancel Modal versus Close Modal

ikedaaMar 25 2021

This is on APEX 20.1
I have a modal page with an editable interactive grid ( page 20 ).
I link to this page from a page (page 15 ) that has an interactive report on it. When I return from the modal page 20, on page 15, I want to refresh the interactive report. I have a dynamic action on page 15 in the Dialog Closed. I have done this many times with no problems.
The problem I have this time is the only way to close the modal ( without adding an extraneous button to do so ) is to cancel the dialog via the X in the upper right hand corner. When this happens the modal is cancelled as opposed to closed so the Dialog Closed dynamic action on page 15 does not execute.
I'd like for one of two things to occur:
To have the dialog cancel perform a close modal
Have the save of interactive grid close the modal.
Can anyone guide me through either of the two solutions or perhaps come up with another suggestion?
