can WIN XP Hyper Terminal do a ACSII terminal Job ?

Hi
We want to install Sun Ultra Enterprise 450 .
We don't have a ASCII character terminal to the serial port.
Can I connect WIN XP Hyper Terminal do a ACSII terminal job ?
( Win XP has a Hyper Terminal utility by which it can be configured as a terminal through it's serial port and a null modem cable )
