can we setup grid and oracle users as /sbin/nologin accounts in Rac database servers?

User_SDMR4Oct 21 2014 — edited Oct 22 2014

Our sys admins are telling us that because of PCI compliancy that they will have to setup the grid and oracle user accounts as no direct login accounts by setting their shell up as /etc/nologin.

I have not seen this before and wanting to know if this will be supported by oracle.

The sysadmins are telling us that we will be able to login with our own user accounts to the server and then use sudo to su to both oracle and grid OS user id's.

Any feedback is welcomed.

Thanks.
