Can we install oracle Golden gate 12c on remote host?

Muhammad AqeelMay 15 2017 — edited Nov 15 2017

Hi

We have two databases running on exadata X4-2 adn X5-2. We want to replicate few objected using oracle  golden gate 12c.

Source (X4-2) database version is 11.2.0.4 and Target database (X5-2) version is 11.2.0.4. I need you expert advice as I want to install the golden gate 12.2.* on a third server HP-Blade. My both databases are running on ASM. I want to configure integrated capture as i believe it supports more data types then traditional data capture. OS is OEL 6.5 X86_64 on all three machines.

Following are my questions and i would really appreciate your support

1) Can we have golden gate running on remote server other than source and target database

2) Can we use this remote installation of golden gate to setup replication among many database (separate capture and replicate for every couple of databases)

3)as my redo logs are on ASM; how  can I configure this ASM based redo logs location in golden gate.

regards,
