Can't open drive vdte1 - device file not found

707804Jun 19 2009 — edited Nov 11 2009
Hi all,

I'm just learning about OSB now and am working through Oracle provided materials. I have OSB up and running on Linux, and I'm having a bit of a problem I haven't been able to solve myself yet. In the Web tool I have a backup job and a restore job pending and I looked to see why they were taking so long because I'm getting a pending resource availability state. Using obtool i ran lsdev and it listed my 2 libraries and the drives inside them as all in service (these are all virtual - just folders, and not connected to real tapes)... when I ran pingdev -v -a, only one library showed as accessible and I got "can't open drive vdte1 - device file not found" message back for most everything else.

Can anyone help point me in the right direction as to where I should research next?

Thanks!
