Can't login to CDE, JDS (Gnome), or Failsafe

807559Jan 29 2008 — edited Mar 4 2008
Everytime I try to login the screen turns black, I see the hour glass and then it boots me back to the login window. This happens, whether I attempt to login from the console, a sunray session or with Xnest

The only way I can login at all is via ssh.

This started happening yesterday after I updated the system and made it current with all patches. I tried rolling back everything I installed too, and it didn't help.

uname -a
SunOS slosunray1 5.10 Generic_127112-07 i86pc i386 i86pc

Here is a tail of my /var/dt/Xerrors

Warning: Null child found in argument list to unmanage
/usr/dt/config/Xstartup: LC_ALL=C: is not an identifier
/usr/openwin/bin/xset: bad font path element (#44), possible causes are:

Directory missing fonts.dir
Incorrect font server address or syntax

X connection to slosunray2:50.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).

Does anyone have any ideas at what's going on?

Thanks in advance
