can't istall sol-9-8/03 on my P200
807559Dec 11 2003 — edited Dec 12 2003Hi, Im trying to install Solaris 9 8/03 for x86 on an P200 with 128MB RAM and 8GB HD.
I can't boot the install CD, the PC is too old, so I made a floppy from the img on the software 2/2 CD.
dd.exe didnt work, but winimage.exe did. So I booted the system with the floppy, and the install routine started.
I deleted all the old partitions, created a new one with the recomended 512 MB and followed all the steps. It copied the required files onto the harddisc (at least thats what it said on the screen), ordered me to remove the disc and reboot by pressing return. So everything went well until then,
but during reboot, the system hangs after a short period of time.
We think it might have something to do with the scsi controller, but havent got a clue how to solve the problem.
