Can't get a char(29) in Jtextfield. Why ? (problem scanning barcode)

Well, I need a hand !

I try to read a barcode and put it in a JTextField
For digits, all is fine ! but when i try to read a barcode with a special character (char(29)=GS=Group separator=/u001D) : I get only digits but not this speciel character !!!
This Character is a part of the EAN128 barcode standard and is an ASCII character too. But it seems to be impossible to get it in a JtexteField or whatever
I see this character when i scan a barcode under invite command of MSDOS (^])

if anyone have an idea, it will be great.

Eric
