Can't find driver for console framebuffer

Fresh install of Solaris 8 on an Ultra-2 and received these errors after rebooting. Installed with entire distribution selected.

NOTICE : Can't find driver for console framebuffer

/dev/fb: No such file or directory
Graphics Adapter device /dev/fb is of unknown type

Fatal server error:
InitOutput: Error loading module for /dev/fb

I verified that the output-device was set to screen (which it was) and rebooted, but this did not help.
