2634983Mar 19 2014 — edited Mar 21 2014

I've installed SQL Developer on my system.I want to create a connection.but I don't know what should I type in the fields connection name and username and pass word.I try once with windows username and password but it doesn't work, next time I type sys as username and the password that set it when I install the oracle data base, both timeĜ³ it coudn't connect and the error is failur-test failed:listener refused the connection with the following error:ORA-12505,TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor.

I really don't know what is the problem.if it's related to the username and password what should I type in the fields Connection Name, Username, and Password and what is the the appropriate values for them??? and if it's related to sth else I appriciate to help me?/

also I try in sql plus and I could easily connect with sys as username and the password that set it when I install the oracle data base
