Can't Connect to 127.0.0.1

Ribeiro_Gustavo_TIMar 30 2007 — edited Apr 10 2007
Hi, I'm new to linux, and I'm trying to use Oracle XE to learn and develop simple applications, but I'm having a problem, when I go to my Home Page Firefox gives me a message saying: "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:8080/apex".

I was wandering in this forum and searching for threads to help me and teach me how to solve this problem, I almost got it. In this thread:

1637609

I read a lot of things that helped me to find other problems, i realize that i don't have any database installed, and my listener doesn't come up.

So I tried to do all the things that a read, and nothing happened.

I'm running oracle on a Toshiba Notebook, with this config.

Intel Celeron 2.8
512 Mb Ram
80 Gb HD

Linux: Fedora Core 6
Kernel: 2.6.20-2933-i386
Oracle Xe: 10.2.0.1-1.0.i386
Firefox: 2.0.0.1

Sorry by my poor english, and thanks for any help.
