Can't connect from XP to Linux

Hi,
I have OEL running over an Sun VirtualBox (VM). I can go to the internet and ping other computers in the network. However, I can't connect (ping) from XP to OEL even thought the opposite is possible. I've read at lot of Linux forum and changed samba configuration several times. Also, modified iptables and allow computers. Help please. Thanks. Frank.
