Can't compile or execute from command prompt

hi everybody

i just installed java sdk 1.5 and can compile and run all my applications from several IDE's (Eclipse, BlueJ), but get constant error messages while trying to do so from command prompt (I added the location of "\bin" to the path (environment variables). Can someone help me, please?!
