Can SOA File adapter read File from Windows Shared location

Hi Experts,
Recently came across a scenario where file needs to be read from a shared location in windows.No SFTP/FTP is installed in windows box and OSB server is running on linux box.

Could you please suggest possible solution.One suggestion I got that to mount the Windows shared file location in Linux where OSB is running and to access through file adapter as a local file system.
