can sessiontimeout more than 30 mins in tomcat ?????

Dear friends,

we had developed email system using
tomcat server. Here the session expiring
at 30 mins eventhough i set more than
30. Here i do want to set for hours
means either 2 or 4 hours. For that
i set the hours in web.xml. But expiring
at 30 mins only. Please help me
as its very urgent for my assignment.
