Can record in sys.aud$ be deleted directly?

We start using Oracle 11g from Aug 2011, I'm not aware the audit trail is enabled by default. I will try to setup schedule jobs to purge audit trail regularly, before that, I don't want to keep record more than one month ago. Can I simply delete the record by timestamp? Is it ntimestamp#?
