Can Oracle Linux 6 Update 4 (x86_64) support Intel Ivy Bridge processors?

TheSkinnyFeb 11 2016 — edited Feb 17 2016

I have a HP ProLiant DL380p Gen8 currently running 64bit Oracle Linux 6.2.

I would like to upgrade its processor.  I am trying to figure out if the UEK2 kernel (kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.17.1.el6uek) in 64bit Oracle Linux 6.4 includes support for the Xeon E5-26XX V2 series (Ivy Bridge).

I am specifically looking at upgrading to a Xeon E5-2637 V2 3.5GHz Quad Core.

Can anyone definitely say Yes or No to this question?

If you're wondering, I need to stay at UEK2 to support our Oracle Database 11.2.0.3 version.  I am aware that UEK3 documentation says that it supports Ivy Bridge.

Thanks!
