Can Oracle database handle very huge data volume?

Dear All,

I have a general question. We have a server machine and Oracle DB standard edition installed. We will plan to upload many ECW images to database. As the uncompressed size of each our ECW images are very large, generally around 40gb, the DB volume after uploaded will be increased to around 500gb - 700gb. So, I wonder if Oracle can handle such huge data volume and any settings I needed to pay more attention for the performance issue.
