Can I install the new Oracle 18c XE without container database?

If I want to install the new Oracle 18c XE on Linux without the container or pluggable databases, can I just set variable CREATE_AS_CDB=false (which would set -createAsContainerDatabase to false) in file /etc/init.d/oracle-xe-18c before I run the install or configure?
