can FUNCTION or ALT key be used to activate button

I am creating a data entry form. Data entry clerks never want to have their hands leave the keyboard. I have a multi-page application using wizards. When data entry is complete on page one, I would like the user to enter ALT-N instead of having to explicitly press the NEXT > button.

Is there a way to do this, and could you provide details (where to place html code if that is needed) as I am new to apex.
