Can EDIT_FIELD built-in cause problems.

Does anyone know if using EDIT_FIELD can cause a problem using Web Forms (10g)?

I have had two reports of our users indicating that they have a problem closing their editors when they click OK.

I know that EDIT_TEXTITEM is the most recent version of invoking the editor and I know that there is a clear difference between the two. I am just having a challenge convincing my management that we should upgrade to using EDIT_TEXTITEM because I cannot prove that EDIT_FIELD is faulty. Do any of you use or used EDIT_FIELD and occasionally have issues around editors?
