Greetings. Long time SQL Server DBA, once again a junior level Oracle guy. I recently learned there is a difference between DB Control and OEM, and came to discover that what I've always thought was OEM is actually DB Control (installed locally on each instance in our shop).
I then came to learn that we have some jobs in the Scheduler, some jobs in DB Control, and some RMan jobs for backups.
For long winded reasons we're considering putting up a real OEM in our environment. One of the justifications for this would be a centralized place to run jobs from, etc. That said, can a dedicated OEM manage all of our jobs for us -- including backups? I believe it can but want to verify before going down this road?
Thanks!
