Can A synonym be used in Discover?

I am new to this tool and I have a schema with all objects that I need to develop my discover application, however, all these objects will have to be move to a different schema. I gave select,update, delete grant to the schema that I am going to use discover in, I then created a synonyms for all the objects in this Schema. When I go to discover to create a Business Area, all these synonyms were not visible.
Please Advice.
