calling checkout service from java

Hi,

I want to call the CHECKOUT_SUB service from java, but I'm getting this error and I can't find anything helpful on the Internet:

Unable to check out '<item>'. A previous version of the content item has been referred to incorrectly.

The m_binder has dID,DOC_INFO result set, dDocName, dDocTitle set...

Does anyone know how to do this?
