call an ajax function from ADF and JDeveloper 10g

Hi,
I have an issue with JSF and AJAX. I am using Oracle JDeveloper 10g and ADF. I want to insert a value to my DB while clicking on the label present on the table head. I am planning to call an AJAX function and insert the value to DB on a click function on that label. But, I am not getting a way to do it with ADF and JDeveloper 10g. please help me to do it.
