Calculating hours and minutes

Hi!

In our database we have 2 fields: start_time and end_time (varchar2).

Start_time       End_time
------------------------------------
10:00              12:55
07:55              09:00

We need to calculate the elapsed time and show the result i.e. 2h55m.

There might be a problem when calculating with a leading 0?
