Calculating cumulative quantity

I'm trying to build a little data warehouse and i have a problem.
In one report among other things i need to calculate cumulative quantity from beginning of the year to current month.
It would be best to write a calculation to calculate this with analytic functions but i don't now how. I now how to calculate quantity for some previous month, but for period of time no.
Can somebody help me.

I have 9iR2 Enterprise Edition database and Discoverer 10g. If you need more information please say so.
