calculating a tendency

521491Apr 10 2008 — edited Apr 10 2008

Hi there!, i want to calculate something and i don't know how to do it in oracle.

I have a backup that stores in a table each time the backup finish the date and the size (in Megabytes) of the backup. We have this table:

   DATE | SIZE
-------------------------------
 08/03/08 | 10000
 15/03/08 | 20000
 16/03/08 | 20000
 18/03/08 | 30000
 01/04/08 | 40000

In this case the expected result is (average increment) is 7.5

I want to know what is the average increment of the backup. I think this is a tendency, but I don't know if there is a oracle function or something to do it.

Thank you very much!! :)
