calculate the size for SGA and PGA

Saaz EnaJan 25 2012 — edited Jan 25 2012
Hi All,

Could some one please provide inputs for calculate the size for SGA and PGA

I am using Win 7 as OS and Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.
CPU for my server is 8 and RAM is 16 and 2 TB Hardisk.

I have created a DB using DBCA config.
By default it has taken SGA_TARGET and SGA_MAX_SIZE as 1.6 GB.

How much should I specify to get excellent performance for these above parameter?

I made it to 3 GB. is it right or should I increase to 5 GB for good performance. as I have 16 GB RAM.

How should I calculate the size for SGA and PGA to use my 8 CPU and 16 MB RAM server config

thanks
Saaz
